Most Disliked

Some guests mention the busy weekend mornings, particularly Sundays, which can lead to longer wait times due to full capacity. Those looking for a quiet morning might find these peak hours a bit overwhelming.

While many adore the casual vibe, a few customers highlight that the bustling atmosphere can sometimes feel rushed, especially during lunch hours. Some patrons prefer a more relaxed dining experience.

There are rare instances when chairs can feel cramped in the dining area, particularly for larger groups, leading to some discomfort during busy times. Additionally, the lack of parking space can be a challenge during peak hours, requiring some to seek alternative arrangements.

I was in Newark with my friend who's visiting from Sri Lanka. He's been wanting to try a proper English breakfast for ages, so we decided to check out Feeling Peckish. Honestly, it turned out to be a great choice. As soon as we walked in, the guy behind the counter greeted us with a big smile. Proper warm and friendly vibes straight away. You can tell he really cares about the place and the people coming in. The cafe itself was really nice. Clean, cosy and had a chilled, relaxed feel. Loads of options on the menu too, which was great. We both went for a hot chocolate. I got the vegetarian breakfast and my friend went for the mega breakfast. The food came out quickly and looked amazing. My veggie breakfast was proper tasty. The veggie sausages were cooked well and full of flavour. The hash browns were my favourite though, perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. The fried eggs were spot on too, yolk cooked just right, not runny but not overcooked. My friend loved his mega breakfast as well. It was his first time trying hash browns and he was a big fan. He couldn't stop talking about how good they were and how much he enjoyed the whole thing. Now the hot chocolate. Honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m from Bristol and nothing I’ve had there comes close to the one we had here. It was rich, smooth and clearly made with care. You could tell it wasn’t just something out of a machine. I wish I got the name of the guy who served us. He was bald and said he’d been working there for 28 years. Not sure if he’s the owner or not but either way he’s a legend. Super friendly, made us feel welcome, and clearly knows how to make a banging hot chocolate. He’s a real credit to the place. All round great experience. Great food, great drinks and great service. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Newark and would recommend it to anyone looking for a proper breakfast spot.

A friendly, warm welcome received in this busy establishment, thought we were out of luck but more tables upstairs. On street seating available also with views of the castle. A busy but relaxed atmosphere, fast efficient service, staff couldn't do enough for us. Food arrived promptly, well presented and was very tasty. Eggs Hemingway are recommended. Generous portions ensure that you will not leave here "Feeling Peckish".

Brilliant cooked breakfast, friendly staff that went above and beyond. Whilst in Feeling Peckish, we witnessed the staff help an elderly lady call a clinic to see if her husband had left yet. Fantastic and an asset to the local area!

Fantastic breakfasts on offer. Our first time in Newark and I think we struck gold with our pick for food. My partner had the standard breakfast and I got the vegetarian breakfast. Perfect portion with friendly staff to boot. If we ever come back to Newark we'll be sure to drop in. Not far from Castle Station.

Popped in for lunch Bank Holiday Sunday. Ground floor quite busy so the four of us were escorted to the next floor and given a large table. The enjoyment of having a room to ourself throughout the meal added to the experience. We were exceptionally well looked after by the lady working on that floor. The food was spot on. Highly recommend this place. Looking forward to a return visit.
